The biceps brachii is a two-headed muscle on the front of the upper arm. The short head arises from the coracoid process and the long head from the supraglenoid tubercle of the scapula. It inserts on the radial tuberosity and, through the bicipital aponeurosis, on the forearm fascia. The musculocutaneous nerve supplies it, and it flexes the elbow and supinates the forearm.
Femur
The femur is the thigh bone and the longest, strongest bone of the body. Its head articulates with the acetabulum of the hip bone, and its distal condyles form the knee joint with the tibia and patella. Major landmarks include the neck, greater and lesser trochanters, the linea aspera and the adductor tubercle.
Heart
The heart is a four-chambered muscular pump in the middle mediastinum of the chest. The right atrium and ventricle send blood to the lungs, and the left atrium and ventricle send oxygenated blood to the body. Four valves keep blood flowing in one direction, and coronary arteries supply the heart muscle itself.
Supraspinatus
The supraspinatus is a rotator cuff muscle above the spine of the scapula. It arises from the supraspinous fossa and inserts on the superior facet of the greater tubercle of the humerus. The suprascapular nerve supplies it. It starts arm abduction in the first 15 degrees and holds the humeral head in the glenoid cavity.
Gluteus maximus
The gluteus maximus is the largest and most superficial muscle of the buttock. It arises from the posterior ilium, sacrum, coccyx and sacrotuberous ligament and inserts on the gluteal tuberosity of the femur and the iliotibial tract. The inferior gluteal nerve supplies it, and it extends and laterally rotates the hip.
Brain
The brain is the control centre of the nervous system, protected by the skull and meninges. It has a cerebrum that handles thought, language and voluntary movement, a cerebellum for coordination and a brainstem that regulates breathing and heart rate. Cerebrospinal fluid cushions it, and the carotid and vertebral arteries supply it.

Questions
Is Anatly free?
Yes. The 3D atlas, study pages and quizzes are free and need no account.
Which anatomy does the 3D model show?
It shows an adult male reference anatomy from BodyParts3D with 2,234 individually selectable structures across 15 body systems.
Can I see a muscle’s origin and insertion?
Yes. Each muscle page lists origin, insertion, nerve supply and action and shows the muscle highlighted on the nearby bones in 3D.
Is this a substitute for a medical textbook or professional advice?
No. Anatly is an educational reference and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis or treatment.
